Before my career shift into speaking and writing, I was a basketball coach for twelve years. Three years into my coaching career I won multiple coaching awards and set every school record for wins and playoff wins.

Hunter is the author of Care to Compete, which debuted in multiple Amazon Top 10 bestseller categories. Written for coaches who want to create a lasting impact, the book explores how strong relationships and clear standards can work together to shape winning cultures. Through his writing, speaking, and workshops, Hunter challenges coaches to care deeply, compete purposefully, and lead in ways that influence athletes far beyond the scoreboard.

Today, Hunter serves full time in ministry and partners with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where he encourages coaches and athletes to lead with character, faith, and intentionality. 

He also facilitates coaching workshops across the Midwest, equipping leaders with practical strategies to create teams built on trust, accountability, connection, and healthy competition.
